La Galerie d'art STEVENSON présente Fugitive, une exposition personnelle de Moshekwa Langa. Conçue comme un retour au pays, cette exposition est la première de l'artiste à la galerie Johannesburg, qui n'avait pas présenté de nouvelles œuvres dans cette ville depuis 2009.
Le travail de Moshekwa Langa depuis le milieu des années 1990 interroge la politique foncière, publique et personnelle à travers la cartographie du territoire et des environnements culturels. Cette exposition explore ces concepts en termes personnels mais non individuels. Moshekwa Langa s'immerge dans le processus, mais lui permet d'évoluer de façon organique, engageant son travail dans une conversation réflexive.
Moshekwa Langa a été en résidence à la Cité internationale des arts par le biais du programme de résidence de l’Institut français et du partenariat avec la Fondation Kadist. L'artiste a produit un ensemble d'œuvres présenté dans cette exposition lors de son séjour en résidence.

Art Gallery STEVENSON presents Fugitive, a solo exhibition by Moshekwa Langa. Conceived as a homecoming, this exhibition is the artist’s first showing in the Johannesburg gallery, and his first exhibition of new work in this city since 2009.
It is often remarked that Moshekwa Langa's work since the mid-1990s has interrogated land and public and personal politics through the mapping of territory and cultural environments. This exhibition explores these concepts in terms that are personal but not self-directed. Moshekwa Langa immerses himself in the process but allows it to evolve organically, engaging his work in a reflexive conversation.
Moshekwa Langa was a resident at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris through the Institut français's residency program and a partnership with Kadist Foundation. The artist produced a set of works presented in this exhibition during this residency.
